Sober Living Home

The process of getting sober and living a drug free life doesn’t end when a person completes a drug or alcohol detox and rehab. It’s actually just the beginning. Often times, a person fresh out of rehab has no idea how to stay clean. They walk out of the facility sober, probably for the first time in a long time, and ask themselves, “now what?” If you have tried to stay clean and sober by yourself and it hasn’t worked, then a structured sober living home is a great place for a recovering alcoholic to learn how to live a drug free life.

A sober living home offers an opportunity for people who want a secure, drug free environment. It’s a place where residents can begin to build a real foundation in recovery with a strong support group of people who share their experience, strength and hope. Living and working together with other recovering alcoholics and addicts in a safe and secure home where the residents learn through daily chores, rap sessions and writing to take responsibility for their actions.

The people living in the house support and look out for each other because they all share a common goal, to stay clean and sober. While living in the house the residents begin to rebuild their lives, taking on more and more responsibilities. They go back to work, go to school, start new careers and begin to repair relationships with family members and loved ones. All while living in a long term structured sober living house. The bonds and friendships made in a sober living home can last a lifetime.

It’s important to remember that a sober living home is not just an opportunity to become sober; it’s a place where they learn how to stay sober. Liberty House is a sober living home that inspires residents to change and to realize that they can achieve their dreams and goals, that change is possible, and it has the graduates who are leading sober, productive lives that prove it. The structure of Liberty House is designed to change the way a person looks at themselves and the world around them.

Through the structure of the house a resident learns how to be responsible for their actions. Most people can’t really do that by themselves. If the addict is at the point where no matter how much they try they still can’t stay sober then it’s time to try something that works. People who have been in numerous rehabs and programs around the country seem to thrive within the structure of Liberty House.

Residents at Liberty House are required to participate in groups along with tasks around the house. Liberty House offers group sessions for residents and their families and one-on-one sessions. The goal of these sessions is typically to identify and examine the behavior or circumstances that have contributed to addiction. Eventually residents are allowed to have jobs while living in the home, which can be a great opportunity for people to continue their daily lives while spending free time in an environment that facilitates a sober lifestyle.

Liberty House is a sober living home for men of all ages that caters to post alcohol rehab and drug rehab patients. Conveniently located in the heart of Los Angeles, our residents attend daily meetings and one on one raps. The program at Liberty House gives drug addicts and alcoholics the tools to live a life without substance abuse. While stays in the house typically last between 30 and 180 days, our affiliation with our residents is a life long process. After completing the exit plan and transitioning into mainstream society, the individual becomes a graduate of Liberty House and is welcome anytime to participate in any house function.
